Overview

To securely access your Wells Fargo business banking transactions, we'll need you to add us as a guest user on your account with view-only access. This lets us see your account activity and statements without the ability to make any changes or transactions. Setup takes about 10 minutes.

What You'll Need

  • A Wells Fargo online banking account
  • Login credentials for the account owner or primary administrator
  • Your Bench ID — this is the number that appears after /client/ in your browser's address bar when you're logged into Bench. For example, if your URL is app.bench.co/client/33248/..., your Bench ID is 33248. If you're unsure, your bookkeeper can provide it.
  • A password to create for the guest user (see Step 5)
  • Setup Instructions

  • Log into your Wells Fargo online banking account.
  • Click on Security and Support.
  • Select Use Account Access Managers.
  • Select Add Guest User.
  • Enter the following credentials:
    • First Name: Bench
    • Last Name: Accounting
    • Email: thirdpartylogins@meetbench.com
    • Phone Number: 6504660173
    • Username: bench*(your Bench ID)* — for example, bench33248
    • Password: Create a password and send it to us through your Bench app message feed. Do not send the password by email or any other platform.
  • You'll see a list of your accounts, each with a dropdown menu for access levels.
  • Select View Only for all of your business-related accounts.
  • Click Save.
  • Log out of your Wells Fargo online banking account.
  • What To Expect After Setup

Once you've completed the steps above and sent us the password through your Bench app message feed, our team will log in and finalize the connection — typically within one business day.

    Troubleshooting

  • I don't see "Security and Support" or "Account Access Managers."
These options may only be available to the primary account holder. If you're not the primary user, check with whoever originally set up the account.
  • Wells Fargo isn't accepting the email address.
Let your bookkeeper know — we have an alternative process we can use.
  • Where do I send the password?
Through your Bench app message feed only. This keeps the credential secure. If you're not sure how to access the message feed, your bookkeeper can point you in the right direction.
  • I'm not sure which accounts to set to "View Only."
Select all accounts related to your business. If you have personal accounts on the same login, you can leave those unselected. When in doubt, your bookkeeper can confirm which ones we need.
  • I forgot to send the password before logging out.
No problem — log into your Bench app and send it through the message feed at any time.
