Overview

Setting up a third-party login for U.S. Bank gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your U.S. Bank Portal. This allows your bookkeeper to download bank statements on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.

What You'll Need

• A Business Account with U.S. Bank

• The Third Party Login email address for your business. This is thirdpartylogins+[your.business.name]@bench.co, please replace "your.business.name" with your business' name, all as one word or with periods between words.*

Setup Instructions

  1. Go to the U.S. Bank Online Banking website and log in using your Business credentials.
  2. Click Profile & settings at the very top of the screen.
  3. Select Login preferences from the drop-down menu.
  4. Look for the Shared Access tile and select Manage.
  5. Click Add User.
    1. First Name: Bench
    2. Last Name: Accounting
    3. Email Address: thirdpartylogins+[your.business.name]@bench.co
    4. Phone Number: 650 466 0173
  6. US Bank will then send a secure invite
  7. Select Continue, check the box for your business checking account, and assign the permissions to View-only (ensuring statement viewing rights are toggled on).
  8. Message your bookkeeper in the Bench message feed that you have completed these steps

What To Expect After Setup

Your bookkeeper will receive an email giving them access. From there, they will now be able to view and download your bank statements.

Troubleshooting

I'm not sure what to use for the email address.

Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
