Overview
Setting up a third-party login for Truist gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your Truist Banking Portal. This allows your bookkeeper to download statements and transaction details on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.
What You'll Need
1. Access to your Truist Banking with admin or owner permissions
2. Your Bench ID number
3. The email address that will be used. This is formatted as thirdpartylogins+business.name@bench.co
Note: Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact email address to use for your account before you begin.
Setup Instructions
If Truist allows the phone number field to remain blank, you may leave it blank. Some users report that Truist may restrict reuse of the same phone number across multiple user profiles.
- Log into your Truist Business Online Banking account.
- Navigate to Business Admin.
- Select Manage Users, then click Add user.
- Enter the following information:
- User ID:
bench[benchID] - Temporary password: Benchb00ks!
- Email:
OS/BPA@bench.co - Phone number: OS/BPA phone number
- First name:
Bench - Last name:
Accounting
- Select Custom access (or the lowest permission level available that allows account access setup).
- For each business bank account, assign View only access.
- Click Add user or Done to complete setup.
- Message your bookkeeper to let them know this has been completed as the email invite link is not a monitored email.
What To Expect After Setup
Once setup is complete, our team will finalize the new user profile and complete the first-time login process—typically within one business day. After access has been activated, you should see ‘Bench Accounting’ listed in your Truist Business Online Banking users.

I don't know my Bench IDThis is the number that appears after /client/ in your browser's address bar when you're logged into Bench. For example, if your URL is app.bench.co/client/33248/..., your Bench ID is 33248. If you're unsure, your bookkeeper can provide it.
I'm not sure what to use for the email address
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format if needed.Related Resources
