Overview

The view-only access to Stripe allows your bookkeeper to verify your Stripe account balance, payouts, fees, and confirm that the Gross Revenue from Stripe is accurately recorded in your books, per IRS standards.

What You'll Need

1. Login access with admin/owner-level permissions
2. The Bench thirdpartylogins email address (provided in the Setup Instructions)

Setup Instructions

  • 1. Log in to your Stripe account.
  • 2. Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right.
  • 3. Under the "Business settings" column, click Team.
  • 4. Click the + Add member button at the top right.
  • 5. Enter the email address: stripe+business.name@bench.co
  • 6. Scroll down to the "Role" section and select View only.
  • 7. Click Send invites.
  • Note on 2FA: If you have strict security settings, you may be prompted to enter your own password or a 2FA code again before you can successfully send the invitation.

    What To Expect After Setup

    Please let your bookkeeper know that you have sent the Stripe invitation once complete. We will finalize the login access on our end once the invite has been received.

    Troubleshooting

    I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
    Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
