Overview

Setting up a third-party login for Steamworks gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your monthly reports. This allows your bookkeeper to download reports on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.

What You'll Need

1. Access to your Steamworks account with admin or owner permissions

2. The email address provided by your bookkeeper (formatted as thirdpartylogins+business.name@bench.co)

Note: Your bookkeeper will confirm the exact email address to use for your account before you begin.

Setup Instructions

1. Log into your Steamworks merchant account

2. In the top toolbar, select ‘Users & Permissions’

3. Select ‘Manage Users,’ and then ‘Invite User’

4. Enter the following information:

User's Full Name: Bench Accounting

User’s Email Address: thirdpartylogins+business.name@bench.co

Under the ‘Partner wide permissions’ heading, select ‘View Financials’ only

Under the ‘Permissions in “Everyone” Group’ heading, select ‘View Financial Info’

5. Click ‘Invite User’

Please let your bookkeeper know once this has been completed.

Part 2

1. Once we have accepted the invite, please approve our invitation from the ‘Manage Users' page.

Please let your bookkeeper know once this has been comepleted

What To Expect After Setup

Once your bookkeeper confirms access, they'll be able to pull your Steamworks reports directly, no action needed from you going forward. If anything changes with your Steamworks account (such as a password update or a change in permissions), let your bookkeeper know so they can adjust accordingly

Troubleshooting

I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
