Overview

Setting up a third-party login for Lightspeed gives your Bench bookkeeping team access to your Lightspeed Merchant Portal. This allows your bookkeeper to download payout reports and transaction details on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.

What You'll Need

  • A Lightspeed Business online merchant account
  • Access to the account owner's login credentials
  • Admin-level permissions to add authorized users

Setup Instructions

Part 1

1. Log in to your Lightspeed account

2. Navigate from ’Settings’ to ’Users’ and click ’New User’ in the top right

3. Enter the following information:

First & Last Name: Bench Accounting

Email: thirdpartylogins+business.name@bench.co

Phone Number: 650-466-0173

Account Type: ‘Reports Only’

4. Click ‘Save.’ We will be sent an email inviting us to create a password

Part 2 (Optional)

1. Disable the daily report feature by navigating from 'Settings’ to 'Users’

2. Click on ’View Details’ for the Bench user you created

3. Check the 'Skip Daily Email’ checkbox and click ’Update’

Please message your bookkeeper to let them know this has been completed, as the email invite link is not a monitored email.

What To Expect After Setup

Once your bookkeeper confirms access, they'll be able to pull your Lightspeed reports directly, no action needed from you going forward. If anything changes with your Lightspeed account (such as a password update or a change in permissions), let your bookkeeper know so they can adjust accordingly

Troubleshooting

I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format
