Overview
To access your Housecall Pro reporting data, we'll need you to add us as an office staff member with reporting access only. This gives us view-only access to the data we need for your bookkeeping. Setup takes about 5 minutes.
What You'll Need
- Access to your Housecall Pro account with permissions to add employees
Setup Instructions
- In the top right corner, hover over your profile and click Account Settings.
- Select Employees.
- Click the + button in the top right corner.
- Enter the following information:
- First Name: Bench
- Last Name: Accounting
- Email: thirdpartylogins+your.business.name@bench.co
- Password: Create a secure password and send it to us through your Bench app message feed. Do not send the password by email or any other platform.
- Under User Type, select Office Staff.
- Under Permissions, toggle on Access Reporting only. Please deselect all other options.
- Click Save.
Please message your bookkeeper to let them know this has been completed, as the email invite link is not a monitored email.
What To Expect After Setup
Once you've saved the new employee and sent us the password through your Bench app message feed, our team can log in and finalize access — typically within one business day.
Troubleshooting
I don't see "Employees" in Account Settings.
You may not have account owner permissions. Check with whoever originally set up your Housecall Pro account.
I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
Where do I send the password?
Through your Bench app message feed only. Log into the Bench app and send it as a message to your bookkeeper.
I accidentally left other permissions toggled on.
Go back to Account Settings → Employees, find the Bench Accounting user, and toggle off everything except Access Reporting.
