Overview

Setting up a third-party login gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your Heritage Bank portal. This allows your bookkeeper to download statements and transaction details on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.

What You'll Need

  • 1. Login access with view only access to account activity and statements
  • 2. Your Bench ID
  • Setup Instructions

    1. Log into your Heritage Bank online account

    2. Click on the 'Administration' header

    3. Click 'Add/Change/Remove User'

    4. Click 'Add a User' and enter the following information

    • First Name: Bench
    • Last Name: Accounting
    • Username: bench[benchID]
    • Password: bench[benchID]2026$
    • Permissions: All relevant business bank accounts

    5. To complete the third party login, we need to finalize the connection within 24 hours. Please let your bookkeeper know through the message feed once you have completed the instructions above.

    What To Expect After Setup

    Once you send the invitation, our team will receive and accept it — typically within one business day. You'll see Bench Accountant listed under Administration once we've accepted. We'll only have view-level access and cannot make purchases, payments, or account changes.

    Troubleshooting

    I don't know my Bench ID.

  • This is the number that appears after /client/ in your browser's address bar when you're logged into Bench. For example, if your URL is app.bench.co/client/33248/..., your Bench ID is 33248. If you're unsure, your bookkeeper can provide it.
