Overview

Setting up a third-party login for Frost Bank gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your Frost Bank Account(s). This allows your bookkeeper to download statements and view check details on your behalf so you don't have to manually upload them each month.

What You'll Need

  • A Frost Bank Business online account
  • Access to the account owner's login credentials
  • Admin-level permissions to add authorized users

Setup Instructions

  1. Log in to Frost Online Banking as the main admin.
  2. Go to Administration / Users / Manage Users (wording may vary).
  3. Choose Add New User
  4. Enter our information:
  1. Assign a role:
  • “View only”
  1. Set limits:
  • View statements
  • Download transaction
  1. Send Invitation

What To Expect After Setup

Once you've finished the steps above, please let your team know via the Bench app message feed. We will log in and finalize the connection — typically within one business day.

Troubleshooting

1. Bench never receives the invite email

Cause: Email filter, typo, or delay.

Fix:

  • Confirm the email address is spelled correctly in the user setup screen
  • Check spam/junk/promotions folders
  • Resend the invitation
  • If still missing, try using a different email domain (Gmail tends to work best)

2. They can log in but see no accounts

Cause: Permissions weren’t assigned properly.

Fix:

  • Go back to User Management / Permissions
  • Make sure the correct accounts are checked (not just “view company info”)
  • Save changes and have them log out/in again

3. Bench can’t perform actions (like downloads or transactions)

Cause: Role is too restrictive.

Fix:

  • Check assigned role:
    • “View only” = no downloads in some setups
    • “Transactions” or “Account access” needed for exports
  • Adjust permissions individually instead of relying on preset roles
