Overview

To securely access your First Republic business banking transactions, we'll need you to add us as a guest user on your account with view-only access. This lets us see your account activity and statements without the ability to make any changes or transactions. Setup takes about 10 minutes.

What You'll Need

‍• Your Company ID

• Access to your First Republic Online Bank Account, with permissions to Add Users

• Your Bench ID — this is the number that appears after /client/ in your browser's address bar when you're logged into Bench. For example, if your URL is app.bench.co/client/33248/..., your Bench ID is 33248. If you're unsure, your bookkeeper can provide

Setup Instructions

1. Log in to your First Republic Online Bank Account

2. Click 'Set-up'

3. Click 'Manage User'

4. Click on 'Add User'

5. Enter the following credentials:

               UserID: bench[benchID]

               First Name: Bench

               Last Name: Accounting

               Password: B00ks$2026

               Contact Name: Bench Accounting

               Email: thirdpartylogins+your.business.name@bench.co

               Phone Number: 650-466-0173

6. Please provide your Bookkeeper/Onboarding Specialist with your company ID

7. For the ‘Communication to Bank’ checkboxes: Leave all boxes unchecked.

8. Click ‘Add’ and scroll down to 'Browse Permissions.'

9. Under the 'Administration Permissions' header, check the following boxes:

- Let User Reset their Password

- Dashboard

- Dashboard permissions

- Provide link to Account Activity

- Show Account Balances

  1. Click ‘Save.’

11. Under the ‘Account Activity and Stop Payment Permissions' header, check all boxes, including ‘Documents,’ then click 'Save.’

12. Under the ‘Balance Inquiry Permissions' header, check all boxes, then click 'Save.’

13. Under the ‘Online Statements Permissions' header, check 'Online Statements', then click 'Save.’

14. Under the ‘Reporting Permissions' header, click the 'Select All' checkbox, then click 'Save.’

15. Select all relevant bank accounts under 'Payments & Reporting Accounts' and check the boxes for 'StdReports' and 'Wire Activity.'

16. Select 'Check Services & Account Assignment' and check 'Balance Inquiry,' 'Check,' and 'Documents,' then Save.

What To Expect After Setup

Once you send the invitation, our team will receive and accept it — typically within one business day. You'll see Bench Accountant listed under your Users once we've accepted. We'll only have view-level access and cannot make purchases, payments, or account changes.

Troubleshooting

I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
