Overview

Setting up a third-party login for Authorize.net gives your Bench bookkeeping team view-only access to your Authorize.net reporting. This allows your bookkeeper to download payout reports and transaction details on your behalf so you don't have to manually pull and upload them each month.

What You'll Need

‍• Bench ID number (see troubleshooting below if you do not know how to access it)

Setup Instructions

1. Log into your Authorize.net merchant interface

2. Click 'Account' from the main toolbar

3. Click 'User Administration' in the main left side menu

4. Click '+ Add User'

5. Select 'Account Analyst' as the type of user you would like to add

6. Provide the answer to the Security Question if prompted

7. Click ’Next’ to continue

8. Enter the following information:

Login ID: bench[benchID]

First Name: Bench

Last Name: Accounting

Title: Bookkeeper

Phone: 6504660173

Email: thirdpartylogins+business.name@bench.co

9. Uncheck the checkboxes to turn off email notifications to the new user

10. Click Submit to continue

11. Let your bookkeeper know you have completed this process

What To Expect After Setup

Afterwards, your bookkeeper will let you know if they are able to successfully log in and retrieve the necessary reporting. Afterwards, you won't have to upload Authorize.net reports to your bookkeeper to complete your bookkeeping.

Troubleshooting

I don't know my BenchID number.
You can locate it via the number in your Bench account URL: https://app.bench.co/client/12345/ the number after client/ is your BenchID. You can also always ask your bookkeeper for it as well.

I'm not sure what to use for the email address.
Replace your.business.name with your actual business name, no spaces. For example, if your business is Maple Goods, the email would be thirdpartylogins+maple.goods@bench.co. Your bookkeeper can confirm the exact format.
